The Architecture
of Pichon Comtesse
Architecture is not only a real marker of the passage of time, but also stands as a testimony to the lifestyles and greatness of civilizations throughout history.
The neoclassical style of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is the epitome of harmony and understated elegance. This set the tone for more recent reconstructions, where the chosen materials – stone, wood and glass – reveal the play of shadow and light in the passing seasons.

“I wanted to keep glass as the central theme at Pichon Comtesse. This shower of light bulbs has become an emblem. It is the collective work of father and son. When you visit a place, it should stay with you.”
Philippe Ducos, Architect

“Success is when everything makes sense. This place tells a story through the vibrant interplay of light and colour on authentic, wine-related materials. Authenticity is synonymous with beauty.”
Philippe Ducos,
Architect
From strawberry trees to boxwood and stipa, the stately garden preserves traditional species, attentively listens to the passing of time, and gives free rein to the audacity of the wind.
Materials associated with wine form the backdrop to the stories we tell, savour, and imagine.
The preserved façade of the former vat room and the entrance to the new atrium serve as links in the history of Pichon Comtesse.
The traditional limestone of the dovecot and balusters blend with the subtle modernity of glass and metal in the reception room, reminiscent of an orangery.
